The City of Marion is proud to announce that City Clerk Lakesha Shannon has earned the prestigious designation of Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC), awarded by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).

The CMC designation is awarded to municipal clerks who have completed extensive educational requirements and demonstrate significant contributions to their local government, community, and state.

Founded in 1947, IIMC is a professional organization with more than 14,000 members worldwide, dedicated to promoting lifelong learning and professional development for municipal clerks.

“This achievement reflects Lakesha’s commitment to professional excellence and her dedication to serving the citizens of Marion,” said Mayor Ashley Brady. “We are proud to celebrate this important milestone in her career.”
