On behalf of the City of Marion Mayor, Council, and Administration, Marion Fire Rescue is excited to announce the appointment of Fire Chief Kevin C. Hammond.

After a nationwide search resulting in more than 30 qualified applicants, Chief Hammond was selected.

Chief Hammond joined Marion Fire Rescue in 2002 as a volunteer firefighter. He worked his way through the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, Lieutenant, and Captain before his appointment to Fire Chief.

Chief Hammond is a lifelong resident of Marion County. He is a Mullins High School graduate with an Associate’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. In addition, he is a South Carolina State Fire Academy Instructor, Certified Fire Officer, and a Nationally Registered Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
