Parks and Recreation Centers

Marion’s Hike/Bike Trail is a two-mile walking trail in the heart of town.

Withlacoochee Park offers tennis and pickleball courts, a quarter-mile walking track, a sand volleyball court, playground equipment, and lots of open green space for activities.

Lion’s Park Picnic Shelter

Shannon Wilkerson Gym houses the department’s main office and basketball facilities.

The A. C. Tollison Center offers additional basketball facilities.

The Green Street Sports Complex features four baseball fields, two soccer fields, and a football field. In addition to the fields, the complex includes a picnic shelter, restrooms, concessions, and press boxes.

Reservations must be made at the main office located inside Shannon Wilkerson Gym. For a copy of the rules, guidelines, and deadlines for requesting facilities, contact the Recreation Department at 843-423-5410.

Picnic Shelters

Our picnic shelters are available to all citizens on a first-come, first-served basis.

To reserve the Pop Dorsey Picnic Shelter at the Green Street Sports Complex, please visit the main office inside the Shannon Wilkerson Gym to pay the $100.00 deposit. Once the rental is complete and the trash is picked up, your deposit will be returned to you within two weeks.

To reserve the Lion’s Park Picnic Shelter at Withlacoochee Park, the Picnic Shelter at Grice’s Park, or a Picnic Shelter at the Green Street Sports Complex, a $20 non-refundable fee must be paid in advance at the main office.
