Veteran’s Day 2019

“Let us remember the service of our veterans and let us renew our national promise to fulfill our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free.” Dan Lipinski

The City of Marion hosted another incredible Veteran’s Day Program this year to honor our local military heroes. The Veterans were saluted with the National Anthem at the beginning of the program, led by Priscilla Rogers. This year’s guest speaker was Mr. Christopher Shelvin, United States Army-Retired, who shared about his experience serving in the United States Army. If you were unable to attend this program, you missed a wonderful tribute to our veterans. Please mark your calendar and join us for next year’s event!

Mayor Ashley Brady and City Council along with our City Administrator say thank you to Rev. Larry Williams and Tabernacle to God Ministries for providing music for the program and the generous food bags, donated to the veterans.  Thank you, Pastor Scott Collins and Pastor Brian McKnight for sacrificing your time to come and be with us with words of prayer.

Even though Veteran’s Day has passed, we still say thank you to all of the many veterans in our community. We also thank them for all they have done to keep us safe and free. Our veterans are always in our thoughts and prayers.
