Marion Fire Department

Firefighter / Engineer

The Marion Fire Department is accepting applications for a Career Firefighter. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a valid SC driver’s license. In addition, applicants must be Firefighter II certified or willing to attend the SCFA recruit school. All qualified applicants will pass a written exam, a physical agility test, and an interview. Applicants selected for hire will also have to pass a SLED background check, drug test, and a medical physical as a condition of employment. The Firefighter will, under general supervision, respond to fire and other emergency calls and perform a wide variety of duties related to fire suppression to ensure public safety and welfare. The candidate must exercise sound judgment and safety precautions in all activities and work under stressful, high-risk conditions.

Class I Officer - Patrol

Under regular supervision, performs uniform patrol duties, including responding to various types of calls, patrolling assigned areas, performing investigative operations, serving warrants, and performing other general law enforcement duties.
